Cashwyre is an app that lets people who hold Bitcoin or dollar-pegged digital currency use it directly: paying bills, buying airtime, getting a virtual dollar card, or sending money across borders, without first selling it on an exchange. Sign-up and identity checks take about five minutes.

Millions of Africans hold digital currency as protection against weak local currencies, but spending it is clumsy. Cashwyre removes that friction, and also sells its payment rails to other businesses through APIs, giving it two ways to earn.
